Warehouse Sales Part 2: Guerlain Warehouse Sale (May 30-31st, 2014)

This is the second part of my warehouse sale haul. If you are interested in the first part, please go back to the previous page!

This was the first time I went to the Guerlain warehouse sale. I didn’t know what to expect. I had heard that it gets pretty crazy! From what I heard from previous years, that it used to be open to the public. Recently however, it has become invite only. I didn’t know that.

I went with my mom after work on the 30th of May and there was a lineup outside the warehouse. We got there at around 5:40pm and the lineup wasn’t too crazy. (Nothing compare to some years at the L’Oreal warehouse sales where the lineup snakes round and round. The security guard is letting about 25-30 people at a time every 25-30 minutes. The sale ends that evening at 7pm and will open again the next day at 9am. As my mom and I get in line I notice people around me all have invitations. WTF?! I quickly pull out my phone and check the warehouse sale description and I am aghast to see (what I failed to see several days before) that this sale is invite only. I am crushed. However we had only been in line for about 30 minutes so I tell my mom that we should just go home because it’s pointless. My mom however, spots a few people who are by themselves (1 invite allows 2 people access) and asks them to consider taking me in with them. We were much further ahead of these people so my mom forfeited her spot and one lady agreed and jumped them line.

Shout out to Li Mei (THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I AM SO GRATEFUL!!!!!)
Seriously, I have the best mom in the world. She’s not crazy about makeup like me and she knew how important the Guerlain sale was for me. I love you mom. <3

I got inside the warehouse around 6:45pm so I waited in line a little more than an hour. Once inside, I heard angels singing! XD I spent waaaaay too much but I regret NOTHING!
The main reason I wanted to go to this sale was because I knew they had the meteorites. I’m addicted to these little magic balls. They are so PRETTY! They look so cute sitting on your dresser/vanity and it seems that these magic balls give you this glow, almost like it’s from within. I spied the old formulation of the meteorites (I had scoped out "Teint Doré" during the VIB Chic Week Sale). They had "Teint Doré" and "Teint Beige" as well. When comparing "Teint Doré" to "Teint Beige", I find that "Beige" gives me more of a glow that "Doré". "Doré" just seems to blend into my skintone and I find it does nothing for me...However, "Beige" gives me this ethereal glow. It looks really nice on my skin. I wore it to work after I got it and my co-workers were commenting on my skin and kept telling me how nice it looked!

For $30. I cried a bit on the inside know that I paid practically full price for them in April… ($67)

Clockwise: Meteorites Teint Beige, Perles du Dragon, Perles d'Azur

I also spied a few other old limited edition meteorites and I picked up Perles D’Azur and Perles du Dragon.

(Total $90)

Another reason I wanted to go to the Guerlain sale was for the perfumes. I have a cousin who is getting married in India in January. My parents are going but I’m not. So I wanted to give a wedding present for his bride to be.

The warehouse sale had a bunch of different perfumes. I sniffed practically all of them and this one caught my attention. It was very florally and not strong like some of the others.

I hope she likes it! Perfume was $30 vs. the original price of $80. (The perfume still had the original price tag on it! LMAO)
(Price Total: $120)

After I got these items, I went back to the beginning of the tables. (Perfume and meteorites were near the end, closer to the checkout.)
The first table was foundations. I don’t like having too many foundations at the same time and I already own two (one still unopened) so I passed on that.
Next were the eye shadows, liners and mascaras. There were many pretties in the eyshadow but it seemed like I have almost all those colours. There was a gorgeous bronzy neutral quad and that one struck out at me. (I looooove Bronze and neutral eyeshadows.)

I picked it up. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Guerlain Bronze Doré

I have yet to play with it because I have so many eyeshadows in my collection I seriously don’t know where to begin and I stick to my favorites. “Naked Palette” *coughcough*
I hope play around with it soon then I can give you my opinion.

I paid $25 vs. $62. (I can’t seem to find the Canadian Price for the quad so I’m giving my guesstimate. US price is $57.)

(Total Price: $145)

The next table was the lipglosses and lipsticks. At this table, there was pandemonium. So many ladies swatching and asking for products. I managed to wriggle myself up to the front and started swatching along with the rest of them. For the lip products (excluding Rouge Gs) they were 4 for $30 or $10/each.
Two lipglosses caught my eyes and I fell in love with them.
They are from the KissKiss line. I didn’t want to pay $20 for two glosses so I selected two more. It was a bit hard because only those two colours called out to me, but I am pretty happy with my choices. Nice pinky colours for Summer and one bold colour for the Fall.

Guerlain KissKiss Gloss

From Left to Right: Figue Plaisir, Rosy Plum, Fraise a Croquer and Rose Florida

Then I spotted the Rouge Gs. I’ve heard and seen these beautiful lipsticks in Sephora but the price scares me A LOT. ($54 each…O.O) These Rouge Gs were $20 each so I went to town swatching on my arm again. I fell in love with only one colour. TRAGIC! These rest seemed too pale/weird for my skintone. :(
(NC42 or 2Y09 with the Sephora Pantone foundation match).

So I picked up only two. I know I said I only fell in love with one; the other was a thank you for my mom for being such a good sport and waiting outside for me while I did some serious damage. I picked “Bee” for myself and Gwen for my mom. “Bee" is a purply mauve colour. Reminds me of “Rebel” from MAC. On the lipstick canister it even has a cute bee on the mirror!

“Gwen” on the other hand is a bold red/burgundy (Ox Blood) colour. My mom loved it. She has never had anything so luxurious in her life. She’s so afraid to use it! But she keeps it proudly displayed with her tiny lipstick collection. (A grand total of 4! LOL)

My Mom's first Rouge G.

"Bee" in all it's glory. A perfect Fall colour!

(Total Price: $215)
Now I’m all shopped out. They had skincare stuff but it was really pricey (even after the discounts) and I have a lot of cleansers, exfoliants and stuff so I passed on that as well and got in line to pay.
OMG! The lineup to pay was almost exactly like to get inside the warehouse!) I snapped a few pictures of the lineup. (I was trying to be stealthy. Excuse the crappy pictures, I don't own an iPhone...)

Wishing the line would move faster...

When I got to the cash (after waiting almost 30 minutes in line) and they started scanning everything and asked me if I wanted a Mystery Bag. My ears perked up, what is this Mystery bag? The cashier told me it contains 8-9 full size items and one bag is $18! I said I would take one!

My grand total for all these goodies: $233.00 plus tax = $267.89. O_o

The cashier handed me the receipt and told me to present it at the exit and I will get my Mystery Bag. I do this and I’m handed a brown paper bag which is stapled (almost like a lunch bag! XD) by an older genetleman. I exit the warehouse and spot my mom right away. She brought the car right up to the parking lot.
(We had parked a bit further away.)
Right away I have her the lipstick. She protested but accepted it and thanked me.
