Even more haulage?!
Actually this happened last month
but I’m only getting around to writing about it now.
I don’t know where you readers are from, but I live in a city where several
makeup companies have warehouse sales twice a year. These sales typically
happen in the spring and fall.
I have the fortune to live in a
great city where we have such a vibrant and eclectic culture and just a great
atmosphere overall. However the thing I enjoy the most about my city happens to
be the warehouse sales! ;)
Montréal is a city that many companies call home, headquarter and maintain their head offices
and distribution centers for the rest of Canada. The warehouse sales that
happen here are not just makeup, we have clothing, kitchen and shoe ones as
well.
Some examples of the makeup warehouse sales that Montréal offers:
- Annabelle/Marcelle
- L’Oreal
- Guerlain
- Clarins
Typically I go to the Annabelle/Marcelle and the L’Oreal one twice a year and I have
been for the past five years at least.

I generally love the Marcelle
skincare line. Their products are very gentle on your skin, perfect for people
with sensitive skin. However, I find not all their products are hits. Some
products from their skincare line do absolutely nothing for me and I actually find
them a bit too gentle! LMAO
But that’s like all brands, not every items works for everyone the same way. But you get a lot of bang for your buck.

However at this sale I only picked
up makeup remover and cleansing water. (I think I was very good at this sale!)
I really love Marcelle’s cleansing
water, it reminds of the Bioderma cleansing
water but for a fraction of the price. It takes of all your makeup without any
fuss. It doesn’t irritate my eyes which is a plus because I have really
sensitive eyes (the one part of me that is really sensitive).
I picked this up at the sale for $7 (I
picked up two). Retail price: $14.95.

I also picked up the Annabelle eye makeup remover. I had
been hearing so much about this online in the past year so when I say them on
display for $5 each I snatched up three. (Retail price $9.95) Until that point
I had been using the Marcelle
“Gentle eye makeup remover” (which is a dupe for Lancôme’s Bi-Ficial makeup
remover) which was nice but I wanted to try something different. What intrigued
of this makeup remover was that a pump that came with it. It reminded me so
much of the ones in the Sephora which you use to wipe of all the makeup you’ve
been switching in the store! LOL

It cuts down on the mess and
spillage that can happen on occasion. (Long story, I knocked over a brand new
OPEN bottle of the Marcelle” Gentle eye makeup remover” all over my countertop
in April. Practically the entire bottle was a lost cause…<.<)
Overall I think they’re nice but I don’t find them any different than the Marcelle Cleansing water. It feels very refreshing on your eyes.

The Annabelle/Marcelle sale is open to the public, no invitation
needed. All cosmetics are $2.50 each (no
joke). Skincare items, prices vary.
The next warehouse is L’Oreal
one. For this one you need an invitation to get in and I typically get them
from my workplace. Before I knew that my workplace handed them out I used to
beg my mom to ask her friends to give her one.
The L’Oreal warehouse sales are ok. I find
they used to be better when I first started going to them five years ago. Five
years ago I scored a Parisienne Perfume coffret by YSL for $42.50!!! I
have never been able to find anything as
spectacular as that. As time passes you start to see repeats of certain things,
so at this one I usually stock up on shampoo, conditioner and other hair care
products.
This year I got two shampoos and
conditioners, some hair straightening /detangler product, a Garnier body cream for my mom, two Lancôme La Laque Fever lip glosses in “Electric Pink” and”
Iridescent” and an Essie nail polish
in “Sure Shot”. I really like the Essie
nail polish. This is actually my first Essie
nail polish. I usually buy Wet N’ Wild,
NYC, Revlon or Sally Hansen.
It’s a really vibrant magenta.

I’ve had them on my toe nails for the past two weeks and so
far no chipping (despite wearing sandals and being a klutz in general…) I give
it a 5/5!!!
The
lip glosses are nice though they are a bit sticky. I was a bit let down by the “Electric
Pink” because when I swatched it, it looked so incredibly bright. I bought it
because I don’t have any bright lipglosses like that. However, when I put it on
my lips at home, it blended so much into my deeply pigmented lips and that it’s
not as vibrant as I hoped…
Oh well, it’s still a pretty colour and I don’t own any Lancôme products so I’m very happy to add them into my collection.
